FAQs
Curious to know what recovery coaching in Dubai entails? Is recovery coach the same as a sober coach? Who can benefit from coaching? Here are some FAQs to help you get acquainted with the concept of recovery coaching and what it can look like for your recovery journey.

• What is recovery coaching?
Recovery coaching is a form of support where a coach guides individuals through the recovery process, offering personalized strategies, accountability, and motivation to maintain long-term recovery. We focus on building life skills, developing healthy habits, and reaching personal goals.
• How is recovery coaching different from therapy or counseling?
Recovery coaching focuses on the present and future, helping clients set goals and stay accountable. While therapy often addresses underlying trauma or emotional issues, coaching is typically non-clinical and more action-oriented. We help clients implement practical skills rather than provide mental health treatment.
• Are you a sober coach? Do you offer addiction treatment?
While we do not provide addiction treatment, we can guide individuals on finding the right resources for them to help them on their recovery journey. While our support services focuses on sobriety and clean time from alcohol, drugs and/or other substances whether the individual chooses sobriety or not, we also focus and offer services surrounding relationship healing and family dynamics.
• Who can benefit from a recovery coach?
Anyone in recovery, whether newly sober or in long-term sobriety, can benefit from a recovery coach. We support individuals struggling with addiction, those going to treatment and/or returning from treatment, or anyone looking to strengthen their commitment to recovery. This also applies to family members, friends, employers or employees that have been effected by someone else’s addiction and/or other mental health challenges.
• How often do I meet with a recovery coach?
Coaching frequency varies based on individual needs and the agreed-upon coaching plan. Sessions can be weekly, bi-weekly, or as needed to support your goals and accountability.
• What kind of training or qualifications do recovery coaches have?
Recovery coaches may be certified through recovery coach training programs and often have personal experience with addiction or recovery. I have done the training through https://www.recoverycoachacademy.co.uk/ and I am a designated Recovery Coach Professional through https://ccar.us/ since 2024.
• Do recovery coaches provide medical advice or treatment?
While we are not medical professionals, we offer guidance and support but do not provide medical or therapeutic advice. Clients would need to seek appropriate healthcare professionals for medical or mental health issues if needed.
• What are the typical areas you work on with clients?
Clients often come to us for guidance in areas like addiction recovery from alcohol and/or other substances, personal growth, career changes, emotional resilience, and relationship dynamics. We help clients find clarity, boost self-confidence, and create lasting changes that align with their values and life goals.
• What does a typical coaching session look like?
Sessions often involve setting goals, discussing challenges, developing coping strategies, and reviewing progress. We provide feedback, motivation, support, and guidance to help clients navigate their recovery journey.
• Can I use a recovery coach along with other support like therapy or a 12-step program?
Yes! Recovery coaching complements therapy, 12-step programs and other recovery resources. We often encourage clients to use a range of support systems to reinforce their recovery.
• I don't go to 12-step programs. Is it okay to have a recovery coach?
Yes! Recovery coaching supports whatever works best for the individual and their recovery. Remember, you are the expert of your journey!
• I don't have addiction issues, can I benefit from recovery coaching?
